Barista towels set of 3

Barista towels are as important a part of coffee preparation as coffee beans. Cleanliness and cleaning are the basis for consistently good coffee taste from a portafilter machine.

• 1 barista cloth 40 x 30cm - black/anthracite
• 1 cloth for cleaning the steam wand 30 x 30cm - blue
• 1 barista cloth 30 x 30cm - black/anthracite
• Care instructions:
• Washable up to 90°, without fabric softener
• Be careful, the cloths may stain the first time they are washed
• Suitable for tumble drying

Why 3 different cloths?

We deliberately use 3 different cloths, each of which fulfills a specific purpose. There are other providers who deliberately rely on one cloth for everything, but in our opinion that is not possible for hygiene reasons. Here is a brief explanation of what the individual cloths are used for.

The blue: the blue cloth (30 x 30cm) is used to clean the milk lance of the portafilter machine. The blue color for cloths for cleaning milk lances has its origins in the catering industry and food hygiene guidelines. A cloth of a different color must be used to clean the items that come into contact with milk.

The small black and anthracite colored one: this cloth measuring 30 x 30cm is suitable for cleaning the portafilter machine on all external surfaces. A dark color was deliberately chosen so that coffee particles are not immediately visible. In our opinion, the size of 30 x 30cm is ideal for this step.

The large black and anthracite colored one: this cloth measuring 40 x 30cm is intended for cleaning the portafilter after use, i.e. for wiping out the sieve after covering it. Here too, a dark color was deliberately chosen to reduce the visibility of the coffee powder.

Why do we sell this barista cloth set?

In our academies in Basel and Dinslaken we use cleaning cloths every day to clean our portafilter machines. In the various courses, we repeatedly emphasize the importance of regularly cleaning espresso machines and other coffee equipment. For these reasons, it is a matter close to our hearts to have a good and useful cloth set in our range, without any unnecessary frills. The cloths used here are of high quality and very suitable for the respective purpose.
