IMS Competition E61 - double screen
IMS Competition E61 - double screen
The IMS Competition precision sieves support uniform espresso extraction thanks to their rounded shape and precise and calibrated perforation. Many punched holes on cheaper espresso sieves have different hole sizes. We value the IMS Competition sieves very much and also use them in our coffee school and in the catering industry.

Important details about capacity
The capacity of the sieves depends on the coffee used, which is why our information on the capacity differs from the information provided by the manufacturer (IMS). In order to make the result as transparent as possible for you, we used our APAS Espresso and came up with the values mentioned above.
When using the APAS, 18-20g can easily be used in the 24.5 sieve. For example, when using an Ascaso portafilter machine it is more like 18-19g because the brewing group sits relatively deep. However, when using a Quickmill Rubino, even 20g is no problem.
Why do we sell the IMS sieve?
Many espresso machines are good in their system - but have differences in the finish and details. Far too often people save money on the tamper , the shower and unfortunately also the sieve. We therefore convert all espresso machines that we use ourselves to IMS Competition sieves of size 24.5 (or in rare cases 26.5). The holes in the sieve are 0.30 mm in size and are polished on the inside.
Converting the sieve is almost self-explanatory. As with cleaning the portafilter, the existing sieve in the portafilter is removed and the new one is clamped in. Complete.
Attention: there are differences between sieves with spring holders and without. The sieve offered here holds on to the spring/clamping ring of the sieve (rigded).
