Capacity and usage:

The capacity of the baskets depends on the coffee used, which is why our capacity specifications differ from those of the manufacturer (IMS). To make the result as transparent as possible for you, we have used our APAS espresso in the 24.5 basket (18-20g) and arrived at the values mentioned above.

Note: When using an Ascaso portafilter machine, 18-19 g is recommended as the brew group sits relatively low, while the Quickmill Rubino handles 20 g without any problems.

Easy installation

Replacing the basket is intuitive. Simply remove the old basket from the portafilter and insert the new IMS Competition basket – you're done!

Attention: Please note the differences between baskets with and without a spring clip. The basket offered here is held in place by the spring/ridge.

Why IMS Competition baskets?

Many espresso machines are well-designed but differ in their finish and details. Far too often, shortcuts are taken with the tamper, the shower screen and, unfortunately, the baskets as well. That is why we upgrade all the espresso machines we use ourselves to IMS Competition baskets in size 24.5 (or, in rare cases, 26.5) as standard. The holes of the basket are 0.30 mm in size and are polished from the inside.
