Explanation of the model designation:

Capacity and Use:

The capacity of the baskets depends on the coffee used, which is why our capacity specifications differ from the manufacturer's (IMS) specifications. To make the result as transparent as possible for you, we used our APAS espresso in the 24.5 mm basket, 18-20g, and arrived at the values mentioned above.

Note: When using an Ascaso portafilter machine, 18-19 g is more recommendable, as the brew group sits relatively deep, while the Quickmill Rubino handles 20 g without any problems.

Easy Installation

Changing the basket is intuitive. Simply remove the old basket from the portafilter and insert the new IMS Competition basket – done!

Attention: Note the differences between baskets with and without a spring. The basket offered is held by the spring/retaining ring (ridged).

Why IMS Competition Baskets?

Many espresso machines are good in their basic construction – but show differences in finishing and details. Far too often, savings are made on the tamper, the shower screen, and unfortunately also on the baskets. Therefore, we equip all espresso machines that we use ourselves with IMS Competition baskets of size 24.5 (or in rare cases 26.5) as standard. The holes in the basket have a size of 0.30 mm and are polished from the inside.
