Explanation of the type designation:

Capacity and use:

The capacity of the sieves depends on the coffee used, so our capacity specifications differ from those provided by the manufacturer (IMS). To make the results as transparent as possible for you, we used our APAS espresso in a 24.5mm sieve, 18-20g, and arrived at the values stated above.

Note : When using an Ascaso portafilter machine, 18-19 g is recommended, as the brewing group is relatively deep, while the Quickmill Rubino also processes 20 g without any problems.

Easy installation

Changing the sieve is intuitive. Simply remove the old sieve from the portafilter and insert the new IMS Competition sieve – done!

Note : Note the differences between strainers with and without spring retainers. The strainer offered is held in place by a spring/clamping ring (rigid).

Why IMS Competition Screens?

Many espresso machines are good in their construction, but differ in the finishing and details. Tamper , the Shower And unfortunately, they also cut corners on the sieves. Therefore, we upgrade all our espresso machines to size 24.5 (or, in rare cases, 26.5) IMS Competition sieves as standard. The sieve holes are 0.30 mm in diameter and polished on the inside.
