Course Description

We dive deep into the world of coffee right from the start. This is definitely not a beginner's course; it is intended for the home barista who already has a good amount of experience and knowledge in grinder adjustment and extraction.

Which temperature is needed for which coffee, how much coffee to how much water, and all that in what extraction time? These are exactly the topics that will be revisited and explored in detail. Every participant will develop the perfect brewing recipe for various coffees.

Together, we will get the best out of every coffee.

Coffee sensory analysis is also covered. A wide variety of qualities will be tasted to understand what high-quality coffee is. We will also take a look at various processing methods such as semi-washed, anaerobic fermentation, and honey. This is done in theory and in practice.

Of course, the topic of latte art is not neglected. We work on the perfect milk foam and try not only to pour hearts but also develop tulips and other patterns.

You are welcome to bring your own machine to this course. We actually recommend it for this course so that you can directly apply your new knowledge to your own equipment.

Important information: of course, we will check the offset setting (temperature setting) of the portafilter machine you bring with you during this course and adjust it if possible.

What prior knowledge do I need for Home Barista Level 2?

The course is aimed at the ambitious home barista who wants to get the best out of every coffee. Prior knowledge through a Home Barista course and an understanding of brewing recipes are mandatory.
