Hario V60 filter - porcelain

The Hario V60 is probably the most used hand filter in the coffee universe and rightly so. It is easy to use and yet offers a steep learning curve with many opportunities for experimentation. Practical on the V60: we and many other roasters offer standard recipes for the V60. So re-brewing is pretty easy.

The V60 is particularly suitable for coffee quantities between 15 and 30 grams of coffee powder.

Product features of the Hario V60 made of porcelain

• Each of these Hario filters is handmade in Japan from Aita-yaki, a traditional Japanese porcelain .
• The filter is size 02 and is suitable for 1-4 cups of coffee . We also sell the Hario V60 02 filter made of glass .
• Thanks to the base, the filter can be placed directly on a cup or a suitable jug, such as the Glass jug from Trendglas Jena , put it on. However, the attachment is made in such a way that air can escape from the jug at any time. With many filters (Chemex as an example) the air cannot escape easily and this stops the water from dripping.
• V60 have a 60 degree angled conical shape . The conical shape creates a deeper coffee bed, which ensures more even extraction than cylindrical filters with smaller amounts of coffee powder (up to 30 grams of coffee). If we change the amount of coffee with a conical filter like the V60, the brewing behavior differs less than with hand filters like the Kalita with a flat base.
• The filter has built-in drainage ridges on the edge, which allow the brewing water and water to drain off to the side. This means that fines (smallest coffee particles) can be collected in many places on the filter and it is unlikely that the filter will become clogged.
• The appropriate filter paper size, corresponding to the hand filter size, is Hario 02 .
• There are a variety of different filter papers from different manufacturers, which gives plenty of room for experimentation.
• The hand filter is dishwasher safe .
• The dimensions of the filter in size 02: height 97mm, base diameter 105mm, top opening diameter 113mm. The weight is approx. 343g.
• The V60 is thermally stable, but absorbs a lot of the temperature of the brewing water - even if it has been preheated. That's why a high brewing temperature of 96 to 99 degrees makes sense for filter coffees. For darker coffees, lower temperatures should be used.
