The Home Barista Online Course is the first course on our new Kaffeemacher E-Learning Platform. In over 30 video units and more than 2.5 hours of material, texts and slides, we explain how to use an espresso machine at home. Our goal and aspiration: good espresso and cappuccino should no longer be a matter of chance!
The online course instructor is Michel Aeschbacher, who is supplemented in individual lessons and excursions by Felix Hohlmann, Philipp Schallberger and Benjamin Hohlmann. Each contributes in their areas of expertise, creating a comprehensive picture. Very concrete, directly at the espresso machine – online and digital.
Home Barista Online Course and E-Learning
Home Barista courses at the academy are a highlight for us week after week (when there's no Corona). Participants pilgrimage to the coffee school with their espresso machines and we help with fine-tuning and get everything out of the machines together.
We have incorporated the experience from our many years of course activities into the Home Barista Online Course. Our goal is to guide you step by step. That's why we have broken down the course into many short and concise lessons that should provide direct answers to questions. This way you can jump between chapters and master the operation of your espresso machine by the end of the course.

E-Learning and further courses
The Home Barista Online Course is the first completed online coffee course. We are already developing further courses. Our goal is to create a wide range of different courses. In addition to our many videos, which we will continue to publish on our Kaffeemacher YouTube channel, the courses are intended to provide a comprehensive overview of a specific area.
Home coffee roasting is one such topic. From the selection of green coffee, the creation of coffee blends, quality control of green coffee beans to the development of roasting profiles and the final verification of the results, the course will cover home roasting.
Other courses will focus on the operation of different types of espresso machines, home roasting equipment, or opening cafes.
Online knows no limits
We have long been thinking about a digital offering of course content.
The online offering does not replace a course with a personal meeting at our academy. But it creates an opportunity to still dive deep into the world of coffee and start practicing and learning, or to deepen or repeat what you have learned.
For us, it is another tool to stay in touch with you and share our coffee knowledge and our enthusiasm for good coffee.
The great thing is that we can also offer courses for coffee enthusiasts from northern Germany or Graz in Austria. Because online knows no limits. And because we enjoy it so much, maybe one or two courses will even complement the offering in other languages.
