The Home Barista Online Course is the first course on our new Kaffeemacher e-learning platform. In over 30 video units and more than 2.5 hours of material, texts, and slides, we explain how to use your espresso machine at home. Our goal and standard: good espresso and cappuccino should no longer be a matter of chance!
The online course instructor is Michel Aeschbacher, who is joined in individual lessons and excursions by Felix Hohlmann, Philipp Schallberger, and Benjamin Hohlmann. Everyone contributes their areas of expertise to create a comprehensive picture together. Very practical, right at the espresso machine – online and digital.
Home Barista Online Course and E-Learning
Home Barista courses at the academy are a highlight for us week after week (when there's no COVID). Participants make the pilgrimage to our coffee school with their espresso machines, and we help them with fine-tuning and get the best out of their equipment together.
We have incorporated the experience from our many years of teaching into the Home Barista Online Course. Our goal is to take you by the hand, step by step. That is why we have broken the course down into many short and concise lessons that provide direct answers to your questions. This allows you to jump back and forth between chapters and master the operation of your espresso machine by the end of the course.

E-learning and further courses
The Home Barista Online Course is our first fully completed online coffee course. We are already developing further courses. Our goal is to create a broad spectrum of different courses. In addition to our many videos, which we will continue to publish on our Kaffeemacher YouTube channel, the courses are intended to provide a comprehensive overview in a specific area.
Roasting coffee at home is one such topic. From the selection of green coffee and creating coffee blends to the quality control of green coffee beans, the development of roast profiles, and the final verification of results, this course will cover roasting at home.
Other courses will be dedicated to operating different types of espresso machines, home roasting systems, or opening cafés.
Online knows no borders
A digital offering of course content has been in the back of our minds for a long time.
The online offering is no replacement for a face-to-face course here at our academy. But it does create an opportunity to dive deep into the world of coffee, start practicing and learning, or deepen and repeat what you have already learned.
For us, it is another tool to stay in contact with you and share our coffee knowledge and enthusiasm for good coffee.
The beauty of it is that we can also offer courses to coffee enthusiasts from Northern Germany or Graz in Austria. Because online knows no borders. And since we enjoy it so much, one or two courses might even be added to the offering in other languages.
