Felix' Master Recipe – the AeroPress Brewing Recipe
We love the AeroPress, and Felix especially does. In 2015, Felix was the Swiss AeroPress Champion and represented Switzerland at the World Championship in Dublin, and he shares his recipe:
1. Ingredients:
- 25 g coffee - relatively coarse grind (see example in the video below)
- 100 ml water (97 °C)
2. Preparation:
- Pour water over in 20 seconds.
- Stir the water evenly for 20 seconds.
- Twist on filter and release air (should be done in 20 seconds).
- After a total of 60 seconds, turn the AeroPress.
- Press for 30 seconds until 1:30 min.
- Then add 100 g of water (bypass).
This AeroPress recipe with the bypass method has brewed many good cups. Felix Hohlmann became the Swiss AeroPress Champion 2016 with it. The recipe, with slight modifications, was also successfully used at the German AeroPress Championship. The Swiss Filter Coffee Champion and later World Champion Emi Fukahori also brewed with the bypass method in the Compulsory Service of the Brewers Cup in 2018.
