Steam Wand Installation Guide
More control. Better microstructure. Finally, proper milk frothing with the Dedica. Installation takes less than 5 minutes – if you know how.
Short video for installation – step by step.
Switch off the machine, unplug it, and let it cool down completely. Release all steam pressure.
Scope of delivery
- 1× stainless steel steam wand
- 1× transparent sealing ring (for assembly)
- Additional sealing rings as spares
Step 1 – Remove original steam wand
- Push the original steam wand upwards.
- Simultaneously turn counter-clockwise.
- Pull downwards.
- Completely remove the black rubber outlet.

Step 2 – Insert sealing ring
Place the transparent sealing ring onto the plastic outlet.
The additional sealing rings are only spare parts.

Step 3 – Push on new steam wand
Place the new steam wand straight on and push slightly upwards as you slide it on. Push until it reaches the upper stop.
It must be fully seated at the top.
Step 4 – Secure
Turn clockwise until the plastic pin is fully seated in the corner.
Tighten hand-tight – do not use tools.

Step 5 – Function test
- Turn on the machine
- Briefly draw steam (without milk)
- Check for steam escaping from the side
Care & Our Tip
- Clean immediately with a damp cloth after each use
- Briefly run steam through to blow out milk residue
- Regularly check for a secure fit
Our tip: Before the first milk frothing, let steam run for 5–10 seconds. This stabilizes the steam and ensures a better microstructure.
How do I froth correctly?
With this steam wand upgrade, real, fine-pored microfoam (latte art quality) is finally possible. In contrast to the original "Panarello", you now have full control over the two crucial phases:
- Stretching phase: Here you introduce air into the milk to create volume.
- Rolling phase: Here you swirl the foam to make it silky and fine-pored.

Why we sell this steam wand
Many small espresso machines are surprisingly strong on espresso, but significantly lose quality on steam. The original steam wands often produce erratic steam, unreliable vortex formation, and coarse foam.
In our tests, this wand clearly upgraded the Dedica and compatible machines: shorter frothing times, more stable steam, and milk foam that can be poured in a controlled manner. For anyone looking to meaningfully upgrade their existing machine, this steam wand is a logical step before considering a complete machine replacement.
