- "The incentive to produce good coffee is not currently very high for producers. The monetary incentive that specialty coffee can offer is currently non-existent, as the price for average coffee is almost just as high."
- "At the same time, the number of coffee consumers willing to buy expensive coffee is shrinking. And yet, many still want fair trade – and that only works if prices are at rock bottom."
- "We can count on the loyalty of our partners. But that doesn't come for free; it only comes through long-term commitment. That’s the only way.”
