Quick Mill & Eureka Tio – Two heritage brands, one bold innovation

At Host Milano, we were surprised by a combination we didn’t see coming. Quick Mill and Eureka have joined forces to present the Tio – a concept that merges espresso machine and grinder into one intelligent system. The Tio is not just another new machine, but a platform that understands recipes, reads data, and automatically adjusts itself.

The machine features a 1.4-liter steam boiler and a thermoblock for the brew group. Importantly, Quick Mill has redesigned the group head: instead of their previous proprietary bayonet, it now uses a standard two-tab 58 mm portafilter mount. This allows the use of standard portafilters and baskets – a big step toward flexibility in everyday use.

A built-in flowmeter automatically stops extraction and sends the measurement data to the grinder. This is where Eureka comes in. The grinder, based on the well-known Libra, has been upgraded with larger burrs and an integrated scale. It communicates directly with the machine and adjusts itself automatically. When a recipe is entered – for example, 15 grams in the portafilter and a target extraction time of 25 seconds – the system provides feedback. If the extraction falls outside the set parameters three times in a row, the grinder automatically corrects the grind size.

The espresso machine is operated via a display with a rotary knob. We like that the machine measures and displays the water conductivity in the tank when switched on – a helpful reminder to use soft water, protecting the machine and improving coffee quality.

The price is expected to be around 2,500 € for the machine, with the grinder priced separately at about 800 €. The market launch is planned for the first quarter of 2026. We’re curious to see how this intelligent interaction performs in real-world use – and whether the temperature stability will live up to the promise shown at the trade fair.
