Swiss Coffee Festival - The Coffee Trade Fair

From September 3 to 5, 2021, the third Swiss Coffee Festival will take place in Zurich. It will be a few coffee-filled days in Zurich. Following two successful previous editions in 2019 and 2020, each with around 5,000 visitors, round three is now upon us.

"Simply even cooler than the first run," is how Michel Aeschbacher describes the ambitions for the coming year. The venue is once again Halle 622 in Oerlikon. Last year, the festival attracted not only visitors from all over Switzerland and abroad, but also numerous media representatives (interview with Michel Aeschbacher and Kevin Mohler in the video).

Numerous specialty coffee roasters will be represented, as well as manufacturers of espresso machines for both home use and the catering industry. And you can find out what else you need to know here.

Swiss Coffee Festival – everything you need to know.

Is the Swiss Coffee Festival 2021 taking place?

Yes, after being postponed twice, the Swiss Coffee Festival will take place from September 3 to 5 in Zurich-Oerlikon at Halle 622. A safety concept will regulate the secure flow of operations and still allow us to finally meet again. Details will follow, and you can find further information about the festival here in the future.

    What are the opening hours?

For the first time, the festival will span three days, from Friday, September 3, to Sunday, September 5. More days also mean more activities and opportunities. And even though the decision for three days was made before Covid due to the full and successful days of the first two editions, this now allows for the spreading out and better distribution of visitor flows.

If you are looking for espresso machines for home use, you will definitely find what you are looking for at Elektras, Pro Kaffeemaschinen, or ECM Espresso World. Kialoa, Vassalli, and Rogalla Dalle Corte are good contacts for catering businesses.

Which roasters do we, the Kaffeemacher, enjoy drinking coffee from when we are not drinking our own? E.g., at Miro, Henauer, Stoll, Black & Blaze, the Kafischmitte and Adrianos, Atinkana, El Impossible, Kaffeerösterei 13/15, Ojo de Café, Rast Kaffee, and Rösterei Adelboden – to name just a few of the represented roasters.

For the first time, the Swiss Coffee Challenge is taking place. Teams of two baristas each will compete against one another. From Friday to Sunday, the baristas will compete in five disciplines, from latte art to tasting.

Are there other lectures and specials?

Two to three coffee lectures will be held each day on the main stage. In addition, numerous green coffee traders and coffee producers will present themselves and serve their coffees for tasting.

    Are the Kaffeemacher represented?

You bet. Right at the entrance on the right. We will all be on-site throughout the weekend in alternating shifts, have a booth, and will be involved in various places. Michel is responsible for the organization of the Swiss Coffee Festival and is in charge of coordination. Dario and David will be competing as a team in the Coffee Challenge.

We look forward to seeing you,
