Kinu M47 Grind Guide

Why do we sell the Kinu M47 Classic Hand Grinder?

The Kinu M47 Classic hand grinder delivers very good grinding results and can be used for preparing espresso and filter coffee. What we particularly like is the stepless grind adjustment option. This allows for very precise grind setting. This is a big advantage, especially when preparing espresso beans, compared to hand grinders based on a click system. The construction is very robust and of very good quality. We also like the timeless design.

Recommended grind settings for the Kinu M47 Classic

Espresso: 1 to 1.5 rotations - depending on the bean and roast level. Robusta and dark roasts should be ground with 1 rotation, and lighter roasts with 1.5 rotations.

Filter coffee (Pour Over): 3-4.5 rotations for Pour Over filter coffee methods like V60 or Chemex.

French Press: A coarser grind, in the range of 4-6 rotations, is recommended for French Press.

Experiment with small amounts of coffee to better understand the influence of grind size on taste. Also note that the type of beans and their roast can influence the optimal grind setting.
