Kinu M47 grind guide

Why do we sell the Kinu M47 Classic hand grinder?

The Kinu M47 Classic hand grinder delivers a very good grind result and can be used for the preparation of espresso and filter coffee. What we particularly like is the stepless adjustment of the grind size. This allows the grind size to be adjusted very precisely. This is a major advantage, especially when preparing espresso beans, compared to hand grinders that are based on a click system. The construction is very robust and of very good quality. We also like the timeless design.

Recommended grind settings for the Kinu M47 Classic

Espresso: 1 to 1.5 rotations - depending on the bean and roast level. Robusta and dark roasts are best ground at around 1 rotation, and lighter roasts closer to 1.5 rotations.

Filter coffee (Pour Over): 3-4.5 rotations for pour-over filter coffee methods such as V60 or Chemex.

French Press: A coarser grind, in the range of 4-6 rotations, is recommended for the French press.

Experiment with small amounts of coffee to better understand the influence of the grind size on the taste. Also note that the type of beans and their roast can influence the optimal grind setting.
