In just under three hours, you will learn the most important techniques for operating an espresso machine for home use. You will learn how to adjust the grinder, the right water and the advantages and disadvantages of different machines for home use. You will learn about the most important coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino, americano). The basic topic of cleaning the machine is also on the agenda. The aim of the course is for you to get to know your machine better or to be able to make a good purchase decision for a new machine.

Home Barista Short and Strong - Course Description
In 2.5 hours, our course participants learn the most important techniques for operating an espresso machine for home use. The setting of the grinder, the right water quality and the advantages and disadvantages of different machines for home use are worked out. You get to know the most important coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino, Americano) and how to brew them yourself. The elementary topic of cleaning the machine is also on the program. The aim of the course is for you to get to know your machine better or to be able to make a good purchase decision for a new machine. The frothing of latte art milk is only briefly demonstrated and foamed once together.
Unlike our full-day Home Barista course, you cannot bring your own machines to this course. Instead, we work at our home barista bar with one of our machines.
What previous knowledge do I need for Home Barista Short and Strong?
The course is aimed at interested private individuals, hobby baristas and lovers of fine coffee. For an intensive introduction to the coffee subject. No previous knowledge is necessary for this course.
Home Barista Short and Strong - Course Instructor
Moritz Hohlmann is the 4th brother of the Hohlmann family. Inspired by his brothers, he has been very involved with the topic of coffee in recent years. He roasts, leads cuppings and knows the technology of home barista machines inside out. In addition, he is a gifted craftsman and developed our tamper, among other things. He runs our academy in Dinslaken and is present in almost all courses.
Michel Indelicato is the head of our coffee school and a member of the management team at Kaffeemacher GmbH. The trained chef is now a Q-Arabica grader, roaster and coffee trainer. In his more than ten years in the coffee industry, he has successfully founded a coffee roasting company and supported numerous cafés and roasting companies in setting up and optimizing processes.
