
Home Barista Course - Short and Strong
In just under three hours, you'll learn the key techniques for operating a home espresso machine. Grinder adjustments, the correct water, and the advantages and disadvantages of various home machines will be covered. You'll become familiar with the most common coffee beverages (espresso, cappuccino, and Americano). The basics of cleaning the machine will also be covered. The goal of the course is to help you get to know your machine better and make an informed decision about purchasing a new machine.

Home Barista Short and Strong - Course Description
In 2.5 hours, our course participants will learn the key techniques for operating a home espresso machine. Grinder adjustments, proper water quality, and the advantages and disadvantages of various home machines will be covered. They will become familiar with the most common coffee beverages (espresso, cappuccino, and Americano) and how to brew their own coffee. The basics of machine cleaning will also be covered. The goal of the course is to help participants become more familiar with their machine or make an informed decision about purchasing a new machine. Latte Art frothing will be demonstrated briefly, and then frothed together once.
Unlike our full-day Home Barista course, you cannot bring your own machines to this course. Instead, we will work at our home barista bar using one of our machines.
What previous knowledge do I need for Home Barista Short and Strong?
This course is aimed at interested individuals, amateur baristas, and lovers of fine coffee. It provides an intensive introduction to the world of coffee. No prior knowledge is necessary.
Home Barista Short and Strong - Course Instructor
Moritz Hohlmann is the fourth brother of the Hohlmann family. Inspired by his brothers, he has become deeply involved with coffee in recent years. He roasts, leads cupping sessions, and has a deep understanding of the technology behind home barista machines. He is also a gifted craftsman and, among other things, developed our tamper. He runs our academy in Dinslaken and attends almost all of our courses.
Michel Indelicato is the head of our coffee school and a member of the management team at Kaffeemacher GmbH. A trained chef, he is now a Q-Arabica grader, roaster, and coffee trainer. In his more than ten years of experience in the coffee industry, he has successfully founded a coffee roasting company and supported numerous cafés and roasters in establishing and optimizing their processes.
